Joe Buccino

Joe Buccino is a U.S. Army Colonel who retired from service after 28 years this past September. Buccino deployed to combat in the Middle East five times during his career. He served as press secretary for Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis and then Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan in 2018 and 2019. In 2022, he served as the communications director for the Combined Joint Task Force supporting Ukraine at the start of the Russian invasion.

Buccino's final assignment was the communications director for U.S. Central Command, the American military command responsible for all operations in the Middle East. He is recognized as an expert in the region and in the intentions and military capabilities of Iran and its proxy forces.

He now serves as a military analyst for Fox News and as the CEO for Joe Buccino Consulting, LLC. An expert on the military application of AI, Joe also serves as an advisor to the Defense Innovation Board.
