Lewis Pryor
Assistant Vice President – Communications & Public Affairs - USAA
Lewis Pryor is Assistant Vice President – Communications & Public Affairs with responsibility for External Communications. Pryor joined USAA in 2018 and brings more decades of communications experience in the financial services industry.
Prior to joining USAA, he was AVP – Public Affairs at State Farm where he was responsible for the company's external relations activity – ranging from media relations, community relations, social media and public relations campaigns.
In prior years, he also led the company's internal communications efforts focused on strategic communications planning and implementation efforts for all company changes and initiatives as well as supporting the organization's senior leaders.
Pryor's career in communications began with Ketchum Public Relations – Atlanta where he handled media relations for a variety of Fortune 500 companies.
He earned his bachelor's degree in public relations from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga. He also holds his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation as well as his Accreditation of Public Relations (APR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He has been actively involved in PRSA's leadership on a local, regional and national level.
Throughout his career he has been recognized nationally for communication efforts and been a recipient of PRSA's Silver and Bronze Anvil Awards.
