
Rachel Gans-Boriskin
Partner and Principal - NOVL
Rachel Gans-Boriskin is Partner and Principal at NOVL and co-creator of GenSpark Solutions, a service-based consultancy designed to help employers in the communications industry retain and manage intergenerational teams. Through GenSpark, Rachel applies her expertise in intergenerational communication and leadership development to bridge the growing gap between early-career professionals and organizational needs. Her work equips companies with research-backed strategies to build inclusive, future-ready teams.
An award-winning educator, Rachel previously served as an Associate Professor of Practice at the Gwen Ifill College at Simmons University and is currently an adjunct professor in Lasell University’s Communications Graduate program. She has taught at Northeastern, Brandeis, and Clark Universities, offering courses in storytelling, organizational communication, media law and ethics, and health communication.
In addition to her academic and consulting work, Rachel has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several major grants, including projects funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts (on the journalistic display of political information online), the Kaiser Family Foundation (on entertainment-education strategies in health communication), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (on combating misinformation and disinformation).
Rachel holds a BA in History from Brandeis, an MA in Media Ecology from NYU, and an MA in Communication from the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified coach (Coaches Training Institute) and holds additional certifications in Human-Centered Strategy (IDEO) and Strategic Management and Innovation (Copenhagen Business School). Her approach blends academic depth, applied strategy, and a commitment to helping organizations thrive through smarter, more empathetic talent practices.
