Report: 76 percent of executives advocate CEOs actively use social media

A new study by Weber Shandwick finds a vast number of employees support the idea that CEOs vigorously amp up their online sociability.

In its report, “The Social CEO: Executives Tell All,” 76 percent of executives surveyed believe their CEO should be actively using social media.

“CEOs are now expected to be chief content providers for their companies. Social media is not only an efficient and engaging way to relay information but is also linked in executives’ minds with being a better leader,” Leslie Gaines-Ross, Weber Shandwick’s chief reputation strategist, said in a press release.
