Report: More people quit their jobs in the last three months than were laid off
It’s the first time in 15 months that voluntary departures, as they’re referred, outpaced lay-offs, reports the Associated Press. “Some of the quitters are leaving for new jobs,” the AP reports. “Others have no firm offers. But their newfound confidence about landing work is itself evidence of more hiring and a strengthening economy.” The AP noted that the number of people quitting their jobs is still down from pre-recession levels.
