Research finds employees appreciate voluntary benefits

Employers that offer voluntary benefits like pet insurance and vision plans are more respected by their employees than companies that don’t provide such perks. That’s according to a survey conducted by WellPoint. “However, only about half of the 2,500 people surveyed said they were knowledgeable about their employers’ voluntary insurance options,” noted Jeff Spahr, staff vice president of Vision and Voluntary Services for WellPoint.
