In so many words, the outspoken radio host called the First Lady “fat,” because she was eating ribs. The First Lady has not responded. Wise move to stay mum when a bully taunts you?
The culprit: conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who spent part of his show on Monday chiding the First Lady for eating ribs and accusing her of not practicing what she preaches when it comes to eating healthfully. He doesn’t come right out and say it, but the implication is that the First Lady is fat. Gawker posts his comments here.
Mrs. Obama has made it her mission to combat childhood obesity, which means that every meal she eats now is analyzed by the political right. So what’s a First Lady to do?
Is it good public relations to respond to an outlandish bully?
