Social media’s new (print) magazine

Ragan.com interviews Larry Genkin, publisher of the newly launched Blogger & Podcaster magazine—the first (and so far only) trade publication geared solely for this marketplace of nearly 100 million.

Since launching in April 2007, Blogger & Podcaster magazine has had industry insiders abuzz by capturing the trends and tools of the Web 2.0 revolution. Recently, Ragan.com sat down with Larry Genkin, publisher of Blogger and Podcaster, to find out where he sees the industry going, and what role his publication will play in its future.

Corporations will also misuse the technology by having blogging only done from “sanctioned”individuals or the corporate communications department. This will ensure that the blogs are artificial, lifeless and full of execu-babble. Already I see companies messing up their blogs by hiring ghost writers who are outsourced PR professionals not even part of the company. These companies are clueless and will continue to scratch their heads and wonder why their blogs are ineffective or why their “professional” blogs are stirring up such a negative reaction.
