Sources say Microsoft will cut its PR budget for corporate social responsibility; rep for company denies it

Senior sources at Microsoft told PRWeek that the company is cutting its PR budget for corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Europe. Microsoft will instead spend that money to promote Windows 7, Office and Xbox. Sources said the company was looking to “protect its business lines first” in response to this year’s economic upheaval. Microsoft spends roughly $15 billion to promote its CSR.
