Spokesperson for James Murdoch quit amid hacking scandal
Alice Macandrew stepped down in July; she is among the first senior executives to leave News Corp. over its approach to the scandal.
Not sure if that’s actually the case with Alice Macandrew, but the chief PR counselor to James Murdoch quit in July at the height of the hacking scandal that’s beset the media company, according to a report in London’s Guardian newspaper this week. James Murdoch is the chairman and CEO of News Corp. in Europe and Asia.
News Corp. reportedly tried to persuade Macandrew, who’s been with the company since 2009, to stay, but she refused.
