Study: College faculty twice as likely to use social media

More than 90 percent use social media in the workplace, compared with 47 percent in other professions, according to the study.

According to a new survey from Babson Survey Research Group and Pearson, more than 90 percent of college faculty use social media in the workplace, compared with 47 percent in other professions.

In the classroom, 80 percent of faculty said they use social media for some aspect of their course. Nearly two-thirds use social media within their class session, and 30 percent post content for students to view outside of class.
