Study: PR is now the fourth-most-caffeinated profession

It fell from the No. 2 spot last year.

Members of the PR industry must be easing off their caffeine addictions.

The third-annual Dunkin’ Donuts and CareerBuilder study found that public relations is now the fourth-most caffeinated profession. Last year, it was No. 2.

No. 1 is food preparation/service work, followed by scientist (No. 2) and sales representative (No. 3). Editors/writers/media workers ranked sixth.

Harris Interactive conducted the survey of 4,152 U.S. workers on behalf of Dunkin’ Donuts and CareerBuilder. Its released coincided with National Coffee Day on Sept. 29.

The survey also noted 63 percent of workers who drink coffee consume two cups or more each workday, while 28 percent have three or more. Younger workers require it more than their older counterparts to stay energized and productive.
