Study: Social media use increases 230 percent since 2007

Did your parents or grandparents belong to a social network three years ago? Did you? Ask that question today and there’s a good chance the answer is yes, yes, and yes. According to a new report from Experian Simmons, two-thirds of Americans surveyed said they visit sites like Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace — a 230 spike from the 20 percent in 2007.
