If you’re a “young professional,” you might want to consider one of these 20 cities, which the jobs website CareerBliss claims are the happiest. CareerBliss defines young professional as someone with less than 10 years of experience in a fulltime job.
California leads the way with happy cities. Nos. 1-3 on the list are Los Angeles, San Jose, and Sunnyvale, Calif. Indianapolis is No. 4, followed by San Diego.
CareerBliss based this list on its analysis of more than 38,000 employee reviews, in which the young professionals rated 10 factors affecting workplace happiness. They include work-life balance, compensation, company culture, company reputation, and more.
With the exception of Indianapolis, the middle of the U.S. is not a very happy place for young people, according to this list.
In a press release, CareerBliss co-founder (and chief happiness officer) Heidi Golledge said happiness is more important than money to young people.
