As you (probably) know, there’s a nonprofit group—Walmart Watch—devoted to challenging the big-box chain, and the Facebook group Boycott Walmart has more than 14,000 members. Meanwhile, the company’s Facebook page has more than 3 million “likes”—3 million.
All those “likes” probably go a long way for its brand advocacy, but are they helping boost the bottom line? Can Facebook “likes” drive sales, whether you’re Walmart or the mom-and-pop shop struggling to stay afloat (due to the Walmart that moved into town)?
