Since launching his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in June, tycoon Donald Trump has been raked over the coals for his comments about Mexican workers.
NBC and Macy’s, among others, cut business ties with him over a few lines in his campaign kickoff speech, in which he said Mexico was “not sending their best” to the United States. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” he said.
Yet those remarks haven’t seemed to hurt him politically. He’s been leading the GOP pack in polls, including this most recent one from The Wall Street Journal and NBC. A pair of new, racially charged revelations from over the weekend may change that, however.
