Trump campaign tweets image of Nazi soldiers

Twitter users were quick to point out the gaffe, which was blamed on a ‘young intern.’

The image—which includes an American Flag superimposed over Trump’s face, a pile of money, the White House and a group of soldiers—featured the candidate’s campaign slogan, #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.

Instead of being United States soldiers, however, the image contains soldiers from Waffen-SS, the armed wing of the Nazi Party during World War II.

Twitter users jumped at the chance to deride and criticize Trump after other users confirmed the soldiers were wearing the Waffen-SS insignia.
