United rebrands logo—will you miss the tulip?

A Facebook group is pulling for United execs to save the airline’s iconic ‘U,’ which is giving way to the Continental globe.

As part of its merger with Continental last year, the airline is replacing its iconic tulip (or “U,” depending on your point of view) with a stylized version of the Continental globe, which will become the company’s defining emblem, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The globe will replace the tulip on monitors, counters, signs, and boarding passes.

Filmmaker and designer Saul Bass created United’s logo in 1973; he was also behind Continental’s jet stream emblem.
