UPS to retailers: Save Christmas with earlier sales

While shipping organizations insist they’re not miracle workers, retailers will still try to provide last-minute magic this holiday season.

We’re getting close to the holidays (it’s ridiculous) and that means a looming PR crisis for the poor souls who have to (spoiler alert) do all of Santa’s dirty work.

After last year’s rough go at trying to get people their Christmas presents on time, UPS is not-so-subtly blaming retailers by asking them to stop holding holiday sales so late in the season.

And UPS is pleading with e-tailers to not make the mistake of offering free overnight shipping as late as Dec. 23. That might sell a lot of toys, computers, and video games but that doesn’t mean UPS will be able to deliver them all.
