What do journalists think of follow up phone calls?

You’ve sent an e-mail to a reporter or editor and now you’re wondering, “Do I call, too?” Jeremy Porter at Journalistics blog did some research on the subject. Turns out 76 percent of the reporters he’s polled said they don’t mind follow up phone calls that are relevant to the pitch. Meanwhile, 12 percent of journalists hate you and the other 12 percent actually love you, the poll (sort of) found.
