Whom do journalists follow on Twitter? An editor shares 7 favorite feeds

A real hodgepodge, this list includes the chief content officer at Edelman.

That makes a list like this one tough to compile, but I’ve whittled those 1,400 down to seven of my favorite Twitter feeds. Some you may have heard about and already follow; others (I hope) are a discovery for you.

1. John Battelle, Battle Media. Battelle has a knack for tweeting the exact type of business news I want to read throughout the day. As his bio indicates, his stream is a delightful mix of media, technology, culture, and business.

2. Richard Sambrook, Edelman. Formerly of BBC News, Sambrook is now chief content officer for Edelman. His blogs tend to shed solid insight on issues affecting PR and mainstream media. Follow him if you’re into feeling smart.

3. Jason McIntyre, The Big Lead. I can with complete confidence say that I can’t remember the last day I didn’t visit The Big Lead at least once a day. It’s among the best sports blogs out there—the perfect balance of ESPN’s yin and Deadspin’s yang. McIntyre’s Twitter stream is definitely worth following for its relevancy and ability to give fans and non-fans what they need to know in the world of sports.
