Why was Andrew Breitbart speaking at the Weiner press conference?

Rep. Weiner arrived a half-hour late to the presser in which he admitted to sending inappropriate tweets. During the wait, the conservative blogger who broke the story took the podium.

Weiner scheduled the press conference for 4 p.m. ET. When he failed to appear at the given hour, Andrew Breitbart, the publisher of several conservative news sites, which broke the “Weinergate” story, took the stage instead.

It was weird. Even Fox News thought so.

Breitbart defended himself and his reporters, took questions from reporters, and then after about 15 minutes walked away from the podium abruptly. Weiner came out about 10 minutes later.
