Last week, The Onion posted a satirical article about Subway offering two foot-long subs for $9.11 on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. (Subway wasn’t pleased.)

The point of the article, of course, was how tone-deaf and insensitive it would be for a company to offer a deal like that to commemorate 9/11. So when an ad offering nine holes of golf for $9.11 this Wednesday at Verona, Wis., golf course Tumbledown Trails appeared in Monday’s edition of the Wisconsin State Journal, people couldn’t believe it.
