The journey of Marriott in 2020 is a tale of two videos.

At the beginning of the pandemic, CEO Arne Sorenson shared a powerful video message with stakeholders as the company stared down the worst public health crisis in a generation—events that would lead to layoffs and massive global disruption.

Sorenson’s message was shared on Twitter and quickly became a singular example of corporate leadership during the early days of the crisis:
