With a growing desire to embody “purpose,” some organizations are taking a swing at actions to address climate change.
According to data from the Pew Research Center, 63% of Americans say that climate change is affecting their local community. Support for policies that address climate change have been growing since 2011, and most Americans say the government is not doing enough to protect the environment.
We also know that in the absence of government action, many consumers want the business community to lead. That was the main takeaway of Edelman’s 2020 Trust Barometer (launched before the COVID-19 crisis hit in March) which exhorted business leaders to take action on community issues.
