It is now time to check out the new social media news you can use now.

Now let’s get to it.

X

Premium subscribers on X can now verify their accounts with government identification, TechRadar reported. The effort is to curb impersonation and ensure age-appropriate content for users. This feature is not available in Europe and the UK.

X has also announced testing an expanded profile bio There will be a “view more” line after their bio summary, allowing for more information in that field.

Meta

Retail TouchPoints reported that Meta has announced advertising options that will make it a very merry “first AI-powered holiday season.” Meta advertisers will have tools to help target unique audiences with AI-powered Advantage+ shopping campaigns. This would enable advertisers to drive purchases to Instagram and Facebook, per RTP. Some campaign tools include discovering new customers with Advantage+ shopping campaigns by automating the process of finding new customers and delivering ad campaigns to them, according to a Meta blog post.

 

 

Threads

Threads desktop users can now quote posts, similar to the app functionality, Social Media Today reported.

 

Instagram

Instagram added a Following feed in the Reels tab, allowing users to just look at Reels from accounts that they follow on the platform, Social Media Today reported. Previously, the Reels feed combined accounts you follow as well as recommended accounts. This change is similar to TikTok’s “For You” and Following” streams.

 

TikTok

It’s Latin Heritage Month and TikTok is celebrating with #CasaTikTok, TikTok posted in its newsroom. #CasaTikTok community has creatives who impact TikTok culture and bring inspiration to audiences around the world. For the month, TikTok is working to amplify the voices of Latin creators and community leaders with its inaugural 2023 TikTok Latin Visionary Voices list, the debut of their Latin Heritage Month content hub, funding opportunities and more.

 

Pinterest

Pinterest announced new benefits for users and brands like Showcase ads, a new interactive ad opportunity to preview and understand a brand’s content by swiping their branded images on the app. Brands can make more engaging interactive viewing elements for users on the platform. Showcase ads are in the U.S., U.K. and a small number of other countries.

 

LinkedIn

LinkedIn recently added a brand partnership search option to find posts made by creators for brands. Lindsey Gamble, associate director of Influencer Innovation at Mavrck, an influencer marketing platform, noted that users can look for posts with keywords and filter them by the post date. “For creators, this feature simplifies the process of identifying brands interested in collaborations on the platform,” Gamble said.

YouTube

YouTube is experimenting with a vertical live feed, per a recent post on YouTube Help. YouTube said that they are experimenting with a new full-screen viewing option on vertical live streams for mobile viewers, per the post. The new live experience features a scrollable feed on mobile devices via the YouTube app or on desktop.
