Kraft turns to Twitter—and tweetups—for its new product launch

Kraft’s DiGiorno brand frozen pizza has tapped PR firm Weber Shandwick for the launch of its latest product—via Twitter. Weber Shandwick plans to identify influential Twitter members to ask them to host tweetups—get-togethers organized through Twitter—that Kraft will cater with its new DiGiorno frozen pizzas. Kraft will also market the new product offline.

Survey: Twitter a better consumer engine than all other social networks

A study released Thursday found that nearly half, 48 percent, of people who saw a brand’s name on Twitter went to a search engine to look for the product, compared to 34 percent on any social network, according to MediaPost . The study was performed by Performics, the marketing arm of Publicis Groupe’s VivaKi Nerve Center, and ROI Research, an analytics and technology firm. Performics Marketing Senior Vice President Michael Kahn will present the findings of this study at Ad:Tech today.

Palin tweet foreshadowed her resignation

If you follow Sarah Palin on Twitter—and you were paying attention to her feed July 3rd—then you knew something big was coming from Wasilla. Hours before she announced her resignation as governor of Alaska, Palin tweeted: “We’ll soon attach info on decision to not seek re-election … this is in Alaska’s best interest, my family’s happy … it is good, stay tuned.”
