Vocus, which bought HARO last year, unveiled a premium version of the service that matches journalists with sources. But don’t worry—it’s kept the free model. Read more about it here. Although Doritos inventor Arch West died this week, the Frito-Lay brand won’t let that bury it’s annual Crash the Super Bowl contest, but participants will have to battle Andy Samberg, The Lonely Island on this year’s USA Today Ad Meter to win the real prize. If a consumer-generated commercial scores No. 1 on the chart, the creator gets a bonus $1 million. If The Lonely Island ad tops the list, the money goes to a charity of their choosing. Of course, it’s not Super Bowl season yet—it’s not even October yet, but new data suggests there might be already be a vampire lurking around the house that only comes out after sunset—your tablet device. Braving the daylight, Amazon is set to unveil its "Kindle Fire" on Wednesday; meanwhile, rumor has it that Barnes, Noble might launch its Nook 2 next month. And while the world awaits the hotly anticipated iPhone 5, there are some signs that consumers could be disappointed. Speaking of people being disappointed, a lot of viewers were unhappy with “Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger for her offensive comments toward both gay, Jewish men during an interview on Sunday night with Bravo network executive Andy Cohen (interview below). She has since issued an apology for her remarks. I’m more concerned for the children, as news spreads that marketers are “hell-bent” on reaching America’s next great demographic of consumers: infants to 3-years-old. Perhaps that can be one of the causes Facebook’s first political action committee (PAC) influences in Washington. Meanwhile, I have a bone to pick with Facebook. As it rolls out its new Timeline platform, it appears users’ ability to anonymously “defriend” people is no longer an option. It’s not that I’ve ever defriended anyone, but I really don’t want a history showcasing when people have done it to me. Ignorance is (sometimes) bliss. Know what else is bliss? This video from the BBC. It might be a bit outdated, but so is your BlackBerry. {/%BODYCOPY%} {%ID%}9614{/%ID%} {%DATAID%}95d8ba87-69e6-4d96-9c1b-1d70197343b2{/%DATAID%} {%CanonicalUrl%}{/%CanonicalUrl%} {%PUBLISHDATE%}9/28/2011 4:00:26 AM{/%PUBLISHDATE%} {%LINK%}https://www.prdaily.com/Main/Articles/9614.aspx{/%LINK%} {%BYLINE%}
